Sources and Verification Register

Every factual market or operator statement should resolve to a named source record with an identifier, owner, URL, and observation or publication date.

Primary-source order

Regulators are preferred for licensing, market definitions, and sector statistics. Operators are preferred for their own current products, account methods, terms, and support instructions.

A secondary source can help locate or contextualize evidence, but it does not replace an available regulator or operator source for a time-sensitive claim.

Required source fields

A useful source record identifies what was checked and when. A homepage link alone is insufficient when a direct product, terms, support, dataset, or document URL is available.

  • Stable source identifier and source owner
  • Direct URL and document or page title
  • Publication date when supplied by the source
  • Observation date and last verification date
  • Notes about access limits, archived copies, or unresolved ambiguity

Changed or unavailable sources

When a source moves or an offer disappears, the existing citation is not silently repointed to a different claim. The record is reviewed, dated, and either updated, archived, or marked unavailable.
